Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama's Annual Celebration 09-08-2026
Tirupati: The three-day 11th annual celebrations of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Tirupati, began on Sunday with a series of spiritual programmes. As part of the celebrations, a spiritual retreat for devotees was organised on Sunday. Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Tirupati, Swami Sukritanandaji delivered a discourse on the topic, ‘Sri Ramakrishna – The Knower Within and the Devotee Outside’.
He said the life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa reflected a perfect blend of spiritual knowledge and deep devotion. Sri Ramakrishna’s spiritual journey went beyond the boundaries of any single path. Referring to several incidents from the life of Sri Ramakrishna, he explained that knowledge and devotion were not opposing paths but complemented each other.
The teachings and experiences of Sri Ramakrishna showed how both could be practised together in the pursuit of spiritual growth.
President of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Tirupati Dr PV Reddy spoke about Swami Vivekananda’s teaching, ‘Know the Self; by knowing the Self, you know the world’. He said the practice of Yoga helps a person develop wisdom and inner peace and enables one to face both happiness and difficulties with greater equanimity. The annual celebrations will continue for three days with various spiritual and devotional programmes.
