Sri Ramakrishna Jayanthi 187th Birthday (Tithi Puja) 21-02-2023 

Sri Ramakrishna Dev Jayanti celebrations were celebrated with special puja and Homa in our Ashrama. Around 380 devotees partook cooked food prasad. We have distributed around 50 lungis & food packets to needy people on this day. 

Today 188th Jayanthi of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna celebrated in Ashrama premises. The celebrations started in the morning with suprabhatham and Vedic chanting.  Special Puja, Homam, Sankeerthanas held. Later Narayana Seva We have distributed around 50 lungis & food packets – Distribution of Food pockets and clothes near Swami Vivekananda Circle, SVIMS and other areas to the poor and needy.  Later a meeting was conducted in Swami Vivekananda Sabhangana on “Message of Sri Ramakrishna”. 

The meeting was presided by Swami Sukritanandaji, Ashrama Secretary in which Prof. GSR Krishnamurthy, Vice Chancellor of National Sanskrit University is the Chief Guest.  Speaking on the occasion Krishnamoorthy told everybody should chant “Sthapakayacha Dharmasya” sloka and know the meaning of it.  Everybody should know our Dharma as in Upanishads, Gnana, Daya, Dharma, Dhana should be followed by us.  Inspired by Sri Ramakrishna Swami, Vivekananda addressed in Parliament of Religions held at Chicago and showed the entire world “What is our Dharma”.  He said Sri Rama Krishna showed the way for the world, which should be followed by us.  We should do service to the society. 

Swami Sukritanandaji told that Swami Vivekananda founded Ramakrishna Math, Mission which are now in India and all over the world, which are recognized by UNESCO.  Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna used to inspire the devotees with his messages and speeches.  Sri Rabhindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi and others are inspired by his teachings.  Sri Ramakrishna told all Religions are one, Bhagawan is one, but the way to reach may be different.  So everybody should follow their own Dharma.  Prof.  P.V. Reddy told that everybody should read Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna Teachings and follow them.  The meeting end with Vote of Thanks by Prof. P.V. Reddy garu.

The Managing Committee members Sri Jayachandra Reddy, Dr. Sugunamma, Dr. G.S. Prasad, Sri Venkateswarulu and other devotees and public participated.  Later, in the evening Harikatha programme by Ms. Jayanthi Savithri was held.
