Swami Vivekananda 161st Birthday (Tithi Puja) 

Swami Vivekananda's 171th Jayanti celebrations were celebrated with special puja and Homa in our Ashrama. Around 170 devotees partook cooked food prasad. We have distributed around 50 Lungis & food packets to needy people on this day.

National Youth Day Celebrations 

On the occasion of the Birthday of Swami Vivekananda, National Youth Day was celebrated by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama today in Tirupati. Ashrama Secretary, Swami Sukritananda ji garlanded the Swami Vivekananda Murthi(Statue) near SV Medical College and Aarathi and Pooja were done by him. Swami Vishwarajananda ji, Prof. P.V Reddy, Dr. Niranjan, Dr. GS Prasad, Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju, Prof. P Karunanidhi, Dr. Leela, Smt. G. Sreedevi and other devotees and students presented. Later Swami Sukritananda addressed the gathering. He said that people should serve the country taking the example of Swami Vivekananda as Serving man is serving God. Later a procession of students, youth, and devotees was taken from Swami Vivekananda Circle to Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama.

A meeting was held later in the Ashrama premises to discuss the "Message of Swami Vivekananda to the Youth" presided over by Swami Sukritananda, Ashrama Secretary, and Dr. Niranjan Babu, Principal, Seven Hills College of Pharmacy was the chief guest. While speaking Dr. Niranjan said that Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address at the world parliament of religions has inspired the Nation, western countries, and the entire world. Students Mr. Chakradhar, Ms. Neerajakshi, and Mr. Vishweshar spoke about the importance of National Youth Day. Swami Sukritananda told the youth that they should develop physical energy and mental energy. They should learn concentration, renunciation, and service. They should develop strength. Strength is life. Our nation should make use of science and technology to prosper as told by Swami Vivekananda. Then only poverty and illiteracy will come down and our country will reach new heights. Dr. GS Prasad proposed a vote of thanks. Students of Seven Hills College of Pharmacy, Sreerama Engineering College, Tirupati, and other devotees participated in this program. Books were later distributed to the students.
